NSDI Registers were established on the basis of the NSDI Act (OG 56/13, 52/18, 50/20) for the management of spatial data in the Republic of Croatia. The State Geodetic Administration, as the National Contact Point for NSDI (National Spatial Data Infrastructure) and INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information), establishes, maintains, and develops The Register of the NSDI Subjects and The Register of the Spatial Data Sources.
The Register of the Subjects represents a list of NSDI entities that, under the NSDI Act, are obliged to participate in the establishment and maintenance of NSDI. The Register of the Spatial Data Sources represents a list of spatial data sources that are part of NSDI.

Solution

The application contains a list of existing subjects (The Register of the NSDI Subjects) and sources (The Register of the Spatial Data Sources) and enables the entry of changes and new subjects or sources. The registers are interconnected in such a way that The Register of the Subjects provides an overview of all the sources reported by a given subject. By clicking on a link, it is possible to access each source, which is described in detail in The Register of the Spatial Data Sources.
In addition, templates for entry into both registers (The Register of the Subjects and The Register of the Spatial Data Sources) are available, allowing for simple registration of new subjects and sources.

Result

At present, 1,549 valid sources are recorded in The Register of the Spatial Data Sources and 285 valid subjects in The Register of the Subjects. Registered users can review sources in the registers and mark them as valid/invalid. The application also offers the option of viewing sources in XML format and downloading them as PDF documents. LIST LABS developed the application in 2015, and since then, upgrades and system maintenance have been carried out annually.
